CASH DONATIONS
During the past several years, the South Carolina Coastal Seniors donated over $26,000 in cash funds in support of the South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation. These funds along with contributions from other benefactors are used for college scholarships, clubs for kids, junior golf tournaments, clinics, and many other programs for South Carolina youth.
The South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation exposes a wide variety of young people to the wonderful game of golf. This exposure encourages the continuation of golf in the state of South Carolina.
CLUBS FOR KIDS
In addition to the cash donations made from the membership dues, the members of the SCCS have donated thousands of used clubs, golf balls, shoes, and items to the South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation. Some of the golf balls are used by the juniors, however the majority is sold to refinishing and renewal companies. The revenue from the sale is used for the programs mentioned above. Likewise, many of the clubs that are donated are given to less fortunate kids, while the remainder are batched and sold to raise money for the SC Junior Golf Foundation.
The Board of Directors of the South Carolina Coastal Seniors is grateful to the membership for their support of junior golf. Members are encouraged to enlist the support of their friends and fellow golfers, at their home golf clubs, to donate used clubs, balls, and other items that are no longer being used, to this program. With your help, we can continue to strengthen the program junior golf plays in our state of South Carolina.
